In 1904 Professor Arthur Korn transmitted the first image between Munich and Nuremberg by the process of Phototelegraphy. It allowed an image to be converted into an electrical current and transmitted over power lines. The current on the receiving end was then transferred onto a negative by means of a cathode ray tube. In 1914 the first news photo was transmitted.
